Overview of “Shirasaki Marine Park”
Shirasaki Marine Park, located in Yura Town, Hidaka District, Wakayama Prefecture, was registered as a roadside station in August 2009.
This park has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 best beaches and is located in the Shirasaki Kaigan Prefectural Natural Park.
Composed of blue sea and white rocks, it is called “Japan’s Aegean Sea“.

The park has a beautiful contrast between the blue sea and white iceberg-like rocks, and is surrounded by rich nature.

why white?
The entire park is surrounded by white limestone, indicating that it is from the Permian period of the Paleozoic era.
In particular, fossils of fusulina and crinoids have been found at the site of the quarry.
This area is a valuable place where you can feel the history of the earth as well as the beauty of the limestone.
