Fuji subaru line
Route
Toll gate
From here to the 5th station, it takes about 24km and takes about 30 minutes.
Trees grow thick and cannot enjoy view from high place.
1st station parking lot
The first station of the Fuji Subaru line is not here, but a little further ahead at an altitude of 1,405m.
This is the first station parking lot, and it is a spot where you can take pictures with Mt. Fuji in the background.
Second station
Altitude 1,596m You can overlook the Aokigahara Jukai.
Third station
Altitude 1,786m
Fourth Station Osawa Observatory
From around 2,045m above sea level, the forest line may gradually begin to decline, and the output of the engine (especially cab vehicles) may begin to decline.
This is because the air becomes thinner and the air-fuel mixture becomes richer, causing the fuel to go out of control.
For cars and recent motorcycles, fuel injection (FI) is adjusted automatically, so you can run normally.
Another is temperature change.
The temperature drops by about 0.6℃ for every 100m increase in altitude.
At an altitude of 2,045m, it will be about 12℃ cooler than at 0m.
In fact, there is also a wind, so the sensible temperature may drop further. Don’t forget your cold weather gear!
Forest limit
The forest limit is the limit point where the environment changes and the forest can no longer grow.
In the case of Mt. Fuji, the forest disappears from this area due to temperature, strong winds, and dryness.
The forest is gone, and alpine plants and rocks are becoming a bare landscape.
5th station
The fifth station at an altitude of 2,305m.
Already above the clouds, the view is spectacular.
The view from the Okuniwa parking lot, which is a little before this, is also the best.
The 5th station is also a base for those who climb from here. By the way, it takes about 4 to 7 hours to reach the top from here. Climbing requires proper equipment.
