What is the Pilgrimage to Saigoku Thirty-three Places?

Saigoku Sanjusansho Pilgrimage is one of the pilgrimages in Japanese Buddhism, and is a pilgrimage to 33 temples in five prefectures: Kyoto, Shiga, Nara, Osaka, and Hyogo. This pilgrimage is said to have been started by a Heian period monk, Kukai (Kobo Daishi).
