Trajectory of a day trip from Osaka to Wakayama to Nara. It is an exhilarating course that runs in nature despite being close to Osaka. This time’s touring is KAZU UNDO’s three managers.
Section 1 Higashi-Osaka – Kinokawa (Asozu Bridge)
Route outline
- Hanwa Expressway
- South Hanna Road
This is the usual course. Get out of the city quickly. The temperature tends to drop between Habikino and Katsuragi, and it was chilly on this day as well.
KAZU in the summer jacket was freezing. Furthermore, the zipper of the jacket opened and I got wind directly. This situation continued until Katsuragi IC.
During the section, my GoPro was in photo mode, so I couldn’t take a video.
Get off at Katsuragi IC and continue on the general road from here.
Take a break at 7-Eleven. I started the Instagram of this site, but I didn’t know how to use it, so I learned from UNDO.
Futami Gokotsuji Station Line
A route that runs between mountains, a course where you can enjoy ups and downs although the corners are gentle. I feel like it’s faster than going to Wakayama at high speed because it’s more fun.
A distinctive bridge over the Kino River in Wakayama Prefecture. The river is wide and the bridge is long and sturdy. There are many long bridges across the Kinokawa River.
After crossing the bridge, run a short section to the fruit line.
Section 2 Kinokawa Fruit Line – Omusubi Stand Kudo (Kudoyama Station)
Route outline
The entire line will open in April 2023. Please forgive me for not being reflected in the map at the time of article creation.
With the help of Google Maps, the place you entered from Prefectural Route 13 is a farm road no matter how you look at it! ? Apparently the opened section was not yet reflected in Google Maps. Once I went east on the fruit line, I wanted to run from the end, so I made a U-turn on the way. I’ll start again from the starting point on the west side (laughs)
In order to stop by “Omusubi Stand Kudo” at Kudoyama Station, we left the fruit line at Kudoyama-cho on this tour, but the route still continues.
It seems that it continues to Shimizu, Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture. (Unexplored this time)
Kudoyama Station
Omusubi Stand Kudo
This is “Omusubi Stand Kudo” in Kudoyama Station. You can enter from the ticket gate, but there is also an entrance on the north side of the station building. You don’t need a ticket to enter from here. There is an “rice ball stand” on the platform on the north side. You can of course take out the finished “rice ball”, but you can also have a set menu in the eat-in space.
Section 3 Kudoyama Station – Koyasan – Road Station Yoshinoji Daito
I took a short detour to Kakinoha Sushi Yanagiya. The reason is that I want to make myself a little hungry, from rice balls to persimmon leaf sushi (laughs).
Route outline
Aim for Daimon from Kudoyama Station. There were several places where the road was one-way due to construction work. The road alignment is remade to be gentle at places where it is steep.
There are many tourists, and there are many crosswalks without traffic lights. If there are pedestrians, stop immediately.
Route 371 (Koya Ryujin Skyline) near Koya-cho Otaki was closed due to landslides, so Route 53 was used as a detour.
One of several major routes between Nara and Wakayama. The course is easy to run with wide roads and gentle corners.
A resting point on Route 168. There were a lot of bikes that day too. Witness a police motorcycle running on Route 168 during a break
Section 4 Road Station Yoshinoji Daito – Yanagiya
Route outline
Exit the Michi-no-Eki Yoshinoji Daito and follow Route 168.
From National Route 168, drive on Prefectural Route 20 to go to National Route 309, which runs east. It is also wide and loose.
Take Route 309 to get to Kakinoha Sushi Yanagiya. I write a lot, but when I’m running, I don’t think about anything. I run as instructed, and later I desperately collect memories and summarize them in articles.
Kakinoha-zushi Yanagiya
5 Furuse, Gose City, Nara Prefecture 639-2254
Section 5 Yanagiya – Higashi-Osaka
Route outline
Leave Yanagiya and take Route 309 to Osaka.
It’s hard to find where to enter from Route 309. I was going to run on the green road, but there was a sign prohibiting motorcycle traffic. I have no choice but to run on Route 200 and go out in the direction of Habikino.
This touring ended with going in the opposite direction. I think it was around 6:30 gathering ~ 15:00 dissolution
