Introducing “Omusubi Stand Kudo” in Kudoyama Town, Wakayama Prefecture. Kudoyama is also famous as a place related to Sanada Yukimura and Kukai (Kobo Daishi).
「Omusubi」or「Onigiri」 is a Japanese food made by putting ingredients in rice and making it firm, and finally wrapping it in nori seaweed.
Kudoyama Station
In the touring, I ran the Kinokawa Fruit Line smoothly, suppressed the desire to keep running, and arrived at Kudoyama Station on the Nankai Koya Line.
It is a station on the Nankai Electric Railway Koya Line and is located in Kudoyama-cho, Ito-gun, Wakayama Prefecture.

Sanada Yukimura, a famous Sengoku military commander, was ordered to live in seclusion by Tokugawa Ieyasu after the Battle of Sekigahara, and at first he lived a secluded life in Koyasan, but later descended to Kudoyama, where he spent the longest time.
It is gaining popularity as a place related to Yukimura Sanada. There are many spots associated with Sanada in the area.

Omusubi Stand Kudo
This is “Omusubi Stand Kudo“, which opened in 2019 and is located inside Kudoyama Station.
You can enter from the ticket gate, but there is also an entrance on the north side of the station building. You don’t need a ticket to enter from here.
There is an “Omusubi Stand Kudo” on the platform on the north side. You can of course take out the finished “rice ball”, but you can also have a set menu in the eat-in space.
It is operated by Genjiro Planning Office (Kainansha Co., Ltd.).
If you look at the official website, there are other stylish and attractive stores, so I would like to visit.
I’m worried about which one of the “omusubi” lined up on the counter.
In addition to this, there is also a set menu of two rice balls, miso soup, and pickles.
The set menu seems to be cooked after ordering, so it takes a little time.
Once completed, you will be handed a terminal with a buzzer.

I also purchased some tea. The tea is a small bottle with a handle made of wire, giving it a nostalgic feeling. Even the miso soup seemed to be homemade.
The pickles were also delicious.

The dish that uses the bark of a tree called “Hegi” creates a nice atmosphere.
Eat-in space
If you go to the back of the home from where you purchased it, there is an eat-in space beyond the wooden deck.
It is a unique building that uses railroad car parts.
When you go inside, it’s a long and narrow space like a railroad car.
The interior is made of wood, and the lighting that looks like bare light bulbs creates a very calm atmosphere.
It’s nice to take your time while watching the trains come and go.
