The history of Roadside Station Phoenix begins when Miyazaki Kotsu was built as the Phoenix Drive-in.
Initially, the road curved around the side of the mountain, but it was later straightened and a new site was created.
Miyazaki Kotsu planned to build a drive-in on the sea side, but due to Shotaro Iwakiri’s idea that “one company should not monopolize the scenery of the Nichinan coast,” phoenixes were planted on the sea side, and phoenixes were planted on the mountain side. A drive-in will be built.
Miyazaki City purchased the facility from Miyazaki Kotsu and began operating it as a roadside station on April 16, 2005.
