Overview and characteristics of Peace Memorial Park
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, its name alone makes many people think of past events.
This park is located in Hiroshima City and was built as a memorial to the victims and victims of the atomic bombing during World War II.
However, Peace Memorial Park is more than just a place of remembrance.
It has become a symbol that sends a message of peace and anti-war to the world.
Atomic bomb dome
It was originally called the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall.
Currently, it is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the Atomic Bomb Dome (especially called the Negative World Heritage Site).
The atomic bomb exploded 150 meters east of this building and about 600 meters above.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
It opened in 1994 and reopened in 2019.
Along with the commentary on the damage caused by the atomic bombing, the contents appealed to the emotions more than before, such as the content focusing on a certain person.
In the exhibition room, the illumination is considerably reduced and the dark route continues.
Afterwards, when you step out onto the glass-enclosed passage in front of the main building, the impression you get from the bright sunshine and the lush green lawn will remind you of the importance of peace.
Entrance (East Building)
The Peace Memorial Museum is entered from the East Building, and the tour course goes around the main building in the center and then returns to the East Building.

Cenotaph for Atomic Bomb Victims
It is installed in a straight line between the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome.
If you stand in front of it, you can see the Atomic Bomb Dome on the other side.
The cenotaph is engraved with the words, “Rest in peace. I will not repeat my mistakes.”
Every year on August 6th, the “Peace Memorial Ceremony” is held.
