About Hachimantai Aspite Line

From where to where?
The entrance on the Akita Prefecture side is Kiridudaira, Hachimantai, Kazuno City on Route 341.
On the Iwate Prefecture side, the entrance is near the Matsuo Hachimantai Visitor Center at 1-chome Kashiwadai, Hachimantai City.
Hachimantai Onuma/Hachimantai Visitor Center
There is a promenade from the visitor center to Hachimantai Onuma, and you can walk there.
Onuma is a scenic spot that represents Hachimantai, and is crowded with many tourists who can enjoy “Rhododendron japonicum” and “Kobaikei-sou” in early summer and colored leaves in autumn.

Hachimantai Kogen Hotel/Akita Hachimantai Ski Resort
From the Hachimantai Kogen Hotel, there are many spots where you can enjoy nature, such as Onuma and Goshogake Nature Research Road.
In winter, you can enjoy winter sports at Akita Hachimantai Ski Resort.
After that, Goshogake Onsen is also good.
Goshogake Hot Spring
Goshogake Onsen is located near Hachimantai Kogen Hotel and Akita Hachimantai Ski Resort.

Ofukazawa Observatory
It is an observatory located slightly on the Akita side from the top, and has an altitude of 1,560m. With its gentle terrain, you can see Mt. Akita-Komagatake, Mt. Chokai, and Mt. Gassan.
Dragon Eye (Kagaminuma)
“Kagami-numa” which becomes Hachimantai When the snow melts from the end of May to the end of June, it looks like the picture below.

Matsuo Hachimantai Geothermal Power Plant
An unusual geothermal power plant is being built.
The annual power generation is equivalent to the power consumption of about 15,000 households.

Matsuo Mine Midorigaoka Apartment
It is said that there used to be a huge mine called Matsuo Mine.
