Okamotoya Shop is located on National Route 500 in Myoban, Beppu City, Oita Prefecture.
Steam rises from the surrounding area, and the scent of sulfur that is unique to hot springs wafts through the air. The specialty here is Jigokumushi pudding.

I didn’t feel it at “Hyotan Onsen” earlier, but when I got out of the car, the area around me smelled of sulfur.

Inside the store
The inside of the store was an old private house-like atmosphere with a wooden interior.

▲I ordered Jigokumushi pudding and hot spring egg.
Entering the pottery vessel, the atmosphere is good.
The pudding was full of caramel, not hellish at all, smooth, sweet and very delicious.
The hot spring egg has a light color and seems to have no taste, but it was salty.
This time it was called “hell steamed pudding”, but I would like to see a pudding hell that is buried in a large amount of pudding.
For stopping by for touring
Located just outside Beppu city, it’s perfect for a break.
From here, the route to Kitakyushu continues with gentle corners.
