Overview of “Hidden Falls”
National Route 425 (commonly known as Shinigo) A hidden waterfall that is not directly visible from the road near Kamikitayama Village, Nara Prefecture.
From the road, it is about 100m back through the promenade.
The promenade is decaying, with some parts missing and large rocks rolling around as you go deeper into the path, but once you pass through the trees, you’ll be greeted by a waterfall that’s so high you’ll be able to look up at it.

As you drive along Route 425, an inconspicuous signboard suddenly appears.
Although you can’t see the waterfall directly from the road, there is a passage on the left, so if you follow it you will see a spectacular waterfall with a height of 105 meters.
Although you cannot see anything resembling a waterfall from the road, there is a signboard guiding you to the waterfall.
Follow the arrow on the signboard and proceed through the passage.
Proceed through the side passage. It disappears in the middle, and from there you go up a little bit where there are a lot of large rocks.

A powerful waterfall with a height of 105m spreads out before your eyes. Although it is such a spectacular waterfall, there are few tourists and it can be said to be a little-known spot.
You can go all the way to the basin of the waterfall, but the footing is poor so you need to be careful.
