Hokuhen Defense Aizu Clan Honoring Monument
It seems that there is a stone monument on the side of the road.
They were guarding this area to advance northward, but it is said that many samurai lost their lives in this area due to the harsh climate, which dropped below -20°C, and illness.
It is said that this monument was built to commemorate the samurai who left their hometown and died in a foreign land.

It is a tourist spot with a beautiful contrast between the weathered white trees in the foreground and the trees growing in the background.
